Pay for College

It's important to start saving early for college. Keep in mind that few students pay full sticker price for college. Most students pay for their education through a combination of savings, scholarships, grants, and loans.

Things you can do to prepare for college costs:

• Estimate how much money you'll need to go to college. Once you know the total amount needed, you can figure out how much you need to save annually to reach that goal.
• If you can't save the entire amount needed to meet your goal, look into sources of financial aid.
• Set up a savings program.
• Check out the Going to College section of MyMoney.gov.
