Kent State University-Salem

From an "outreach" program based in the old Salem High School (1962) to leased facilities—at $1 a year—at the Bliss Company's South Broadway office building (1966) to the original construction of the present campus (1971), the Kent State University Salem Campus has grown with the communities it serves. The campus draws staff, faculty and students from across Northeastern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia , many with advanced degrees in their field of study. We prepare approximatley 1,100 students for careers in the modern world. Throughout its history, Kent State Salem's programs have been influenced by the changing needs of area people, business, and industry.
